French brand

water heater atlantic

The French company Atlantic began its production in the second half of the 20th century and feels confident in the 21st. Over a long period of time, the organization has significantly expanded its range. The company's products are distinguished by engineering, functional features, and shape. The cost is also different. In addition to the country of the brand - France, Atlantic boilers are manufactured in Ukraine. Odessa is a representative of the Atlantis Group concern.

Features of boilers Atlantic

Long-term manufacture of boilers has led to the appearance of similar functionality in all products:

  • fast heating;
  • anti-corrosion resistance;
  • energy saving;
  • modern design;
  • affordable price.

The storage water heaters are equipped with two types of heating elements: wet and dry. The first resembles a boiler, and the second does not come into contact with liquid. Wet heating elements are susceptible to corrosion, scale, for this the concern has developed a series - O'Pro, which is protected from rust and other negative effects associated with a long stay in water. Dry ones last longer, as they are shielded from liquid by a flask, in addition, the silent heating elements of the Steatite product line heat up perfectly. Prices for such heaters are slightly higher than usual.

Existing types of water heaters by volume

The characteristics that separate Atlantis water heaters can be called their volume, which varies from 10 to 300 tons of liters. Displacement determines functionality in business processes.

  • 10-15 liters. - the minimum size for installation in hard-to-reach places, heated water is enough for washing dishes, hands;
  • 30 l. - one person is enough for water procedures;
  • 50 l. - compact, the most popular volume, there is enough hot water for two;
  • boilers Atlantik 80 liters (Slim series) - a small-sized case, good capacity, for two or three people;
  • 100-liter - medium size, fit in houses without creating inconvenience, enough heated liquid for three;
  • From 100 to 500 liters. - large, for private houses and businesses.

Varieties and features

The French brand "Atlantic" presented three main types of boilers for the choice of users:

  • Electric - use only electricity for power supply.
  • Indirect heating - they take heat from heating systems.
  • With heat pumps - an environmentally friendly series that uses heat from the environment to heat water.

In our review, we will touch upon Atlantic electric and indirect boilers. We will consider both simple models, made in cylindrical cases, and design ones, which are distinguished by a solid appearance and well-thought-out ergonomics. Their production involves the developer's proprietary technologies - Diamond-Quality tank protection, Smart Control control system, Steatite dry heating elements, ACI Hybrid and O'Pro corrosion protection technologies. They make it possible to manufacture reliable and durable water heaters.

User's manual

Atlantic - modern approaches, security. The current equipment is easy to operate, with the slightest knowledge and meaningful instructions.

  • Accommodation. Should be closer to the water supply units;
  • Warming. The boiler must not be installed in rooms with sub-zero air temperatures. If it is a garage, the heater needs to be double insulated;
  • Temperature conditions. Better if it does not exceed +40;
  • Space. There should be free space near the water heater for repairs and other actions;
  • Electrician. The cable from the boiler must not come into contact with other electrical appliances, the device must be grounded;
  • Water in the system. Open hot and cold water taps to the device;
  • Drain valve. Must be closed when opening taps;
  • A sign that the tank is full. When hot water appears in the kitchen, the taps on the equipment can be closed;
  • Safety before power on. Make sure that the equipment is full, check the reliability of the connections;
  • Turning on;
  • Work. After a while, water will flow from the drain hole - this is a feature of normal operation, you need to immediately connect the unit to the sewer;
  • Conclusion. We check the device and connections again.

Did you know that ...

Sometimes during operation, the water heater may emit loud noises such as hums. Such a process is possible due to poor-quality water, and not due to a breakdown of the mechanism.

If you take good care of household appliances, operation is possible for a long time.

Boiler Atlantic 80 liters: what is good about dry heating elements

Water heaters Atlantik can be both with immersion and dry heating element. Moreover, the latter are considered more popular models. How does this happen?

When choosing a boiler for heating water, experts recommend paying attention to the presence of dry tena in the device

Advantages of dry heating element:

  • Longer service life - this is due to the fact that it is enclosed in a special flask and does not come into contact with the liquid, which means it is not affected by it;
  • Lack of scale on the element;
  • There is no need to regularly clean the device or use any means to improve the functioning of the unit;
  • The cost of dry heating oil is cheaper than "wet".

By the way, if the dry type heating element breaks down, it will be quite easy to get to it. And you don't have to spend a lot of time looking for a replacement or repairing a part.

And yet, despite the indisputable advantages, a water heater with a dry heating element has one drawback - the water in such a boiler heats up rather slowly, since the heating element is located in a separate container, and not in water.

Water heater Atlantic - Operation and repair

___________________________________________________________________________________________

My boiler Atlantic Steatite Slim VM 80 is 3.5 years old. After 2 years, a brown liquid came out of the hot pipe, I made it out to see what and how. It turned out that the anode fell off and lifted the mud from the bottom of the tank (water from my well, despite the filters, creeps through a little bit of clay). I put it in place, then I use it.After another 1.5 years, having bought a new anode, I wanted to put it in the EVN. I disassembled the device, and there the anode is completely worn out. I also scooped out a couple of handfuls of husks from the tank - the enamel was crumbling, the upper part was just rusty, there was no enamel. I understand that for about six months I have already been living with a rusting tank. How long will he last under such conditions - am I already running to buy something new, or is there still six months? A pair of leads - all on one flange - that's what you need! I have it suspended from the ceiling, there is no way to climb from above, from below - all the same pipes and a handle. The thermometer is still useful, as is the regulator - sometimes you need more water - you can (temporarily) turn the thermostat to the maximum (usually it is 3/4). You still need to clean it once a year / one and a half, a tank or a heating element. If there are signs of wear, change the anode unambiguously. On enamel shedding. You need to figure out the reason. Either there was no safety valve, or there is no accumulator (out of order) and water hammer occurs when the pump is turned on. In general, you need to check the water supply system. In any case, massive enamel shedding indicates the presence of excess pressure inside the water heater. On the Atlantik storage water heater there are 80 liters of heating element, as I understand it, 2 kW? It's good. And what do they write about additional protection? Judging by the advertisement, some potential is supplied to the anode. Is it electrochemical protection? Tell me one more thing - how safe is it to raise the temperature to the maximum? The factory setting on most thermostats is set to 70-75 degrees. Over time, it changes upward. There is an opinion that heating at the maximum temperature is bad. I believe that you need to heat the way you want. That is why it is a technique, to exploit it. In addition, the higher the temperature of heating the water, the less bacteria grow inside the water heater. I have a storage boiler Atlantic Steatite Сube VM 100 S4CM, steatite (dry) heating element. Dual-mode 1.2 kw and 2.4 kw. It has 2 thermostats: protective and regulating the heating temperature. Worked for 2 years in 2.4 kW mode at maximum heating. Breakdown: first began to knock out the protective thermostat. Then the place where the neutral wire was attached melted in it. Replaced the thermostat with a new one. Now, in the 2.4 kW mode, the installation wires are very hot inside, both are zero and phase. In the 1.2 kW mode, they do not heat up. Copper wires 4 squares go from the 16A machine to the boiler. These wires do not heat up. What could be the reason for the overheating of the wires inside the unit, given that the contacts are all connected tightly, not loosened? Unfortunately, we do not have the opportunity to consult on such narrow technical issues remotely, since it is necessary to check everything on the spot, it is recommended to call a master. I have an Atlantic 50 liter electric water heater, it has worked perfectly since 2007, but one evening I noticed that water was dripping from it. Advise how it can be corrected (if possible), or call specialists? If it leaks through the gasket, replace it. Boiler Atlantic Round Standart 50. The problem is that it heats the water to high boiling water and for some reason does not turn off automatically for about 4 hours. The temperature sensor on the body indicates more than average, although it is set to a minimum. Is this the norm? Or a breakdown of the thermostat? No, this is not the norm, most likely the problem is in the thermostat, but other malfunctions are possible, for example, the temperature sensor could fail. For an accurate diagnosis, an inspection is necessary. Is it possible to connect an electric boiler and an Atlantic 80 liter boiler in one bundle? Theoretically, I myself understand that I cannot do this when I looked at the connection diagram. Why do I want it? So that all the electrics are connected to one place, and the boiler controls the heating process of itself and the water heater. For example, you need to set the heating time for the boiler, and at this time the boiler turns off the heating and heats the EWH at full power. This is an electric water heater. It can only be "connected" to the boiler with wires.In the sense, both he and the boiler have a certain electrical power. The boiler is planned to be 6 kW, EVN - 2.4 kW. Do you have these dedicated 10 kW (at least turn on the kettle) of electrical power? There is an option to heat hot water supply in an indirect heating boiler using an electric boiler. There is a double benefit - less power is needed and the water heats up much faster. If water is leaking from the inner blue plastic that contains the cold water line, what should be done in this case? Boiler Atlantic Opro VM 100 series. It is necessary to establish the exact place of the leak, pipes and connections can be replaced, repair of a tank leak is usually not cost-effective and short-lived. If the leak is not large, condensation is possible. Tell me, does the Atlantic Vertigo Steatite 50 model have an overpressure relief valve? And is there a heating indication, a light that lights up when the water heating process starts and goes out after the heating element is turned off. I just heard about the fact that water heaters explode, and you need to watch this indicator on / off. heating element (heating element). And yet, if you use this heater only in summer, and occasionally in winter (for example, on New Year's holidays) and then drain all the water with the disassembly of the device, is there still a high probability of breakdown? A safety valve is included. There is an indicator light that will show you if the machine is heating up or not. For the winter, you will have to disassemble and drain the water, otherwise it will not completely drain. Atlantic Steatite Slim VM 80 l. and Elite 80 liters. differ, among other things, in power and the presence of a magnesium anode in Slim. As far as I understand, with dry heating oil, the absence of a magnesium anode is not critical. But the power for a country house is better less, about 1500, so as not to bounce? The anode is required, the tank is steel and enamelled. The manufacturer requires the condition of the anode to be checked every 1.5-2 years. The question is what will survive or not. You need to look at how much power is allocated to the house and count the entire connected load. I want to buy an electric storage water heater Atlantic 100 liters S4CM. What can you say about him? Dry Teng, 7-year tank warranty, 2-year electrics warranty. Ideal for hard water. At the dacha (one small house) there is a pumping station. The thresholds for its maintenance of water are from 2 to 3 atmospheres (on - off). I put the boiler Atlantic Ego 50. It was with my brother for a long time, but it was rarely used. The unit is working. The check valve was checked and cleaned - it is serviceable. Unfortunately, there is no passport for it, but judging by the brackets, it can be installed both vertically and horizontally. I installed it vertically, the upper inlet on the boiler with a blue end (with a check valve I connected the cold water inlet to it), the lower one with a red ring (directly the hose to the water sockets). The rings on the boiler are not removable, that is, no one confused them in places. The nameplate on the device with markings and other data in this position is readable directly, which also indicates its correct position. On the lower part of the unit there was a temperature regulator with a power-on indication (a mechanical thermostat and a neon indicator lamp) and a cord for connecting to an outlet. That is, logically, turning it upside down contradicts the meaning (it is impossible to regulate and the indication is not visible). But then it turns out that it has an upper inlet for cold water, and a lower outlet for hot water. With the faucets closed (even the taps on the water sockets are all closed), when the device heats up after 2-3 hours, the cold line heats up very much. Even the high pressure hose of the pump, which goes into the well, has overheated. With subsequent control purely visually by hand, the inlet of the cold hose is even hotter than the outlet of the hot one. Questions: Is it a universal unit (vertical-horizontal)? If it is vertical, then, contrary to logic, should the indicator and regulator be set up (so that the blue water intake from the bottom is)? Or is it still horizontal? Or do you still need to deliver something? Is the valve itself in good working order? If it is serviceable and installed correctly, in any case, hot water should not pass through it. Well, maybe a little, if it works. Vertical model, indicator and regulator at the bottom. It is necessary to completely fill the device (you need taps for both pipes), disconnect from the system and open both taps. From the first it will globally gush, and in the second it will suck in air.The first is the cold water inlet, the second is the hot water outlet. What is the device and principle of operation of the Atlantic Steatite Exclusive 200 storage water heater? Conventionally, all models, the installation of which is more correctly entrusted to specialists, can be divided into two types: "Dry" - steatite heating elements in flasks "Wet" - copper heating elements without flasks. How do "dry" steatite heating elements differ from steel tubular heaters that are used by other models? Steatite is an ideal natural material for electrical equipment. It has very high physical characteristics, mechanical strength and stability. Withstands steatite temperatures over 1000C, does not burn and has excellent thermal conductivity. Compared to steel heaters, steatite elements have a larger heat transfer area, which allows them to heat water faster. They heat up almost instantly and cool down for a long time, which favorably affects the energy efficiency of the EVN. How many liters of hot water comes out of the Atlantik 100 liter water heater? When taking water from a hot tap at the point of consumption, the volume of water heated to the maximum temperature is about 3/4 of the total volume of the device. The remaining 1/4 is water from the layer where heated water is mixed with incoming cold water. The amount of outgoing hot water depends on the intensity of the flow through the EWH and the temperature of the incoming water. Why does the heating time increase during the cold season? This is due to a decrease in the temperature of the incoming cold water supply. What is the maximum water heating temperature? The maximum heating temperature is 63 ± 30 C. Why is there no scale on the temperature indicator? The temperature gauge is designed to display the heating or cooling process of water in the device. It is not an accurate measuring instrument. Do I need to disconnect the Atlantic 50 liters boiler from the mains after each heating? Not. The unit works in automatic mode. When the temperature set on the thermostat is reached, the contact opens and the voltage is removed from the heating element, the device turns off. When cooling down, the contact closes and voltage is applied to the heating element. What is the power consumption during the operation of the electric water heater Atlantic Vertigo Steatite 100? The amount of consumed electricity depends on the intensity of operation of the device, as well as the temperature of the cold liquid entering it. What is the safety valve for the 80 liter Atlantic model for? Why is it dripping from it? The safety valve is designed to prevent liquid from flowing out of the tank in the absence of it in the cold water supply riser, as well as to relieve the excess pressure formed in the tank when the heated water expands. The pressure is released by dropping a small amount of it from a special hole when the pressure in the tank reaches 8 atm. Installation of the valve from the kit to the device is required. How much can the relief valve bleed out on the Atlantic Steatite Elite 80? It depends on the intensity of use - the more often the device is turned on in heating, the more liquid will be discharged. It also depends on the pressure in the cold water supply riser - the higher the pressure in the riser, the less time it takes to reach the pressure in the tank, at which the discharge occurs. The Steatite Cube 100 model is in operation. What is a magnesium anode for and why should it be periodically replaced? The purpose of the magnesium anode is to increase the reliability and improve the operating conditions of the unit by protecting the steel tank from corrosion and preventing the formation of a dense scale deposit on the copper heating element. The protection of the steel tank from corrosion lies in the fact that during the electrochemical interaction of several metals in an aqueous solution, corrosion of a metal with a lower electrode potential occurs.In the device, the copper heating element has the highest potential, then the steel tank and then the magnesium anode, which is subject to destruction (corrosion). When the anode is completely destroyed, the steel tank is corroded. That is why the spent magnesium anode must be replaced with a new one in time. What is the frequency of replacement of the magnesium anode for the Atlantik boiler? Replacement frequency for model N4E, N4, PC, S3S, D400-1-M, Round VMR, Delfa N4L, Aston, Welcome - 12 months. When using the device in production, in the service sector and in public catering - 6 months.
